Help
is at hand for anyone wanting to reduce the cost of selling their
house – thanks to an innovative new website.
Sell
That Property ( www.sellthatproperty.co.uk
) was established in May to enable people to advertise their
property and avoid costly estate agents' fees, which can run into
the thousands.
The
site is the brainchild of Harlow property investor Colin Watkins,
who was frustrated by the sizable chunk of profit going to estate
agents.
He
said: “I have been buying and selling property for a long time but
saw a lot of my profits going in estate agents' fees.
“Typically
they charge 1.5% of the eventual selling price, which would be £3,000
on the average house price in England and Wales – currently £200,000.
“I
thought there must be an alternative. Our website solves that problem
because – regardless of the value of the property – the most anyone
will pay to advertise their home on our site is £104.99.”
The
site is nationwide, so anyone looking for a house can search their
region for suitable properties – even down to a specific town.
And
Colin has also linked up with online conveyancing service Easier
2 Move, to make buying, selling or remortgaging a house more convenient
for the customer.
He
said: “Moving home is said to be one of the most stressful things
anyone can do, which is why we've made everything as convenient
and cost-effective as possible.
“For
instance, by using our online conveyancing service, customers can
be updated on the whole process via email and text message.”
