A
Romford corporate video-maker has received rave reviews from his
peers for his latest release.
Peter
Walters, of the Power Visual video production company, brought out
‘Cash From Your Camcorder' last month – and it's already been given
the stamp of approval by industry journals like the Institute of
Videography's ‘Focus' magazine.
He
hopes their endorsement will help him open video production – normally
something reserved for specialist companies – to the masses, by
showing amateur camcorder fans how to get financial recognition
for their talents.
The
61-year-old gives advice on how to use advertising and the web to
their full potential when promoting a film, and also how to find
the right distributor.
He
said: “I've seen similar films which were made by Americans like
Bill Myers, but they were aimed at an American audience and didn't
really translate to the UK market.
“The
premise is a good one though – if a film-maker chooses a special
interest video and markets it properly, they can make a good income
out of it.
“For
instance, I sold 5,000 copies of one title [Successful Show-jumping
with Tim Stockdale] in the first year of release. It's sold 11,000
copies altogether since I released it in 2004.
“And
there's no reason why most camcorder enthusiasts couldn't do it
– as long as they follow my advice of course!”
Mr
Walters is currently in negotiations with a number of distributors
to bring the film to a wider audience. In the meantime, copies are
available from Power Visual on 0800
074 2367, or via email at peter@powervisual.com
