A
Stoke-on-Trent software developer is continuing its rapid expansion
by adding to its UK sales force.
Parker
Software has taken on two new staff, who will be based at its Tunstall
headquarters, and is looking for another two sales people to work
around the country.
The
expansion – which has seen company turnover double in the last year
– has been funded by the success of their Microsoft certified WhosOn?
program, which enables companies to see who's using their website
at any one time.
And
it means Parker is competing directly with much larger American
companies, such as LivePerson, who are listed on the NASDAQ Stock
Exchange.
Owner
Stephen Parker said: “We are already punching above our weight by
competing with giants like LivePerson in the States, but we are
looking to build our UK profile, because only 25% of our customers
are based here.
“By
adding functionality, like the new callback facility, and expanding
our sales force, we hope to maintain the success we've had over
the past four years.”
Website
administrators are alerted every time someone hits their site, and
they can then track the user as they go from page to page, or interact
with them via a LiveChat facility. The user can also request a callback,
regardless of where they are in the world.
But
the software is not just an advanced web monitoring tool. WhosOn?
can also be used for order management, gathering customer information,
and providing effective customer support.
Stephen
said: “We are building a suite of software to enable companies to
see and communicate with who's on their website.
“Companies
can communicate with their customers free of charge, because calls
can be made through the Internet and are not subject to normal call
charges.
“But
it's much more than that – we can track exactly where the user is,
where they have come to the site from (even down to the exact search
terms used), and even who they are, so it's a very powerful tool
in gathering customer information.
“It
also enables companies to monitor the success of pay-per-click campaigns,
detect pay-per-click fraud (for instance if a competitor was repeatedly
visiting the site to distort the figures), generate automated reports,
and receive alerts if pages go offline.”
Parker
has also developed a ‘white label' version of the software, so ISPs
and web designers could add their own branding and include it in
their portfolio.
This
will work alongside the other two versions, which can either be
hosted on Parker's servers or installed and monitored easily by
the customer.
There
are currently over 2000 users of the software, in more than 20 countries
worldwide, including Boeing Airlines, Harvard University , Microsoft,
and 20 th Century Fox in America , and a number of local authorities
in the UK .
