Very
few firms can justifiably call themselves Ghostbusters, but a new
software package has given its designers every right to that claim!
Parker
Software have just released version 4.2 of their WhosOn program,
which enables businesses to watch visitors to their website in real
time, and interact with them via a live chat facility.
This
means businesses can build a relationship with visitors, making
them more likely to become customers, rather than 'ghosts' who come
to the site and leave without making any contact with the company.
The
software also allows businesses to track exactly where the customer
has come to the site from, so they can monitor the success of pay-per-click
advertising campaigns.
Developer
Stephen Parker said: "Most web sites visitors are like ghosts,
they are invisible to you whilst they are on your web site.
"Up
until now the only way to know if someone has been on your website
is by manually running web stats reports which are available long
after the visitor has left.
"This
software enables companies who invest in pay-per-click marketing,
for instance Yahoo and Google Adwords, to see exactly what visitors
are looking for on their web site - even down to the specific term
used in the search.
"In
other words they can see just how effective their campaigns are,
and whether they should continue to spend money in that area.
"Companies
can spend a lot of money on PPC campaigns without really knowing
how much business they are bringing in - they know traffic to the
site is increasing but it's just guesswork.
"WhosOn
will help you convert your visitors into customers."
WhosOn
is available in three versions: one aimed at Web designers &
ISPs, who can offer the service to their customers; an Installable
version, which a company can use to monitor its organisational domains;
and a Hosted version, which is available direct from Parker Software's
premises in Stoke-on-Trent .
