A
Dudley conference venue is offering delegates a taste of the Caribbean
– with a unique catering service!
Mahoe
Services caters for conferences and functions of all sizes – with
a Caribbean twist – either at one of their two banqueting suites
in the town centre or at the client's chosen venue.
Proprietor
Rudi Nelson hails from Jamaica and has catered for a number of high
profile clients, including the English National Opera and racecourse
owner Stan Clarke – building on his previous experience catering
for politicians, sportsmen and diplomats at hotels in his homeland.
Mahoe
has also supported the Walk to Cure Diabetes, held by the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation, for three years by providing food
for the walkers.
The
venue plans to share the food and culture of the Caribbean with
a growing audience, and provide tailor-made sessions for training
in the public and private sectors.
Mr
Nelson will provide free food samples – also known as ‘tase i nah'
(have a taste) – to anyone interested in holding an event at the
venue.
He
said: “Although people with Caribbean heritage form a significant
part of the UK population, we feel there is not a lot of understanding
of real Caribbean culture.
“Hopefully
we can bring that to people who have never experienced it before
– or refresh the memories of anyone who's spent time in the Caribbean
.”
Alongside
catering for functions and conferences, the venue can also host
musicians and other creative artists to provide the complete Caribbean
experience for guests.
